HOW TO GET TO THE PO DELTA
The Po Delta of the Emilia Romagna Region is located in the eastern corner of the Provinces of Ferrara and Ravenna, not far from many artistic cities, such as Venice, Verona, Padua, Mantova,Ferrara and Ravenna. Getting there is easy.
By car
> From the North: Strada Statale 309 Romea (Venice–Ravenna) towards Ravenna; or Srada Statale 16 Adriatica to Ferrara, then highway belt Ferrara-Porto Garibaldi or directly to Ravenna. Motorway A13 Padua-Bologna, exit Ferrara Su, then highway belt to Porto Garibaldi. Strada Statale 434 Transpolesana Verona-Rovigo and A13, or Strada Statale 16.
> From the South: Strada Statale E45 or Strada Statale 16 Adriatica to Ravenna and Strada Statale 309 Romea towards Venice.
> From the West: Motorway A13 (exit Ferrara Sud) and highway belt Ferrara-Porto Garibaldi.
By train
The nearest railway stations are: Ferrara (line Venice-Bologna) and Ravenna (line Ferrara-Rimini). From Ferrara take a train to Codigoro (line Ferrara-Codigoro of the railway FER stopping in Ostellato). More information at: www.trenitalia.it
By plane
The best choice for foreign visitors. The following airports host also low-cost airlines from Great Britain and Germany. If arriving by plane, it is recommended to rent a car at the airport. The nearest airports are:

> Airport M. Polo in Venice (167 km from Comacchio)
> Airport G. Ridolfi in Forlì (63 km from Comacchio)
> Airport di Miramare in Rimini (94 km from Comacchio)
> Airport V. Catullo in Verona (216 km from Comacchio)
In the Po Delta area you can choose to move by car or by bicycle – the guide shows where to rent a bike in the delta sites. In addition, many hotels provide their guests with courtesy bicycles. A list of local bicycle rentals at www.ferrarainfo.com. It is worth watching the delta from the water. Choose one of the boat excursions from Goro-Gorino, Porto Garibaldi and the Valli di Comacchio. Some of the sites can be visited also on horseback, particularly in the area of Valle Bertuzzi and the Valli di Comacchio.
ACCOMMODATION IN THE PO DELTA
The Po Delta area offers a wide range of accommodation: hotels of different categories, both on the coast and in the hinterland, B&B, farm hotels, hostels and, especially in the summer, houses and flats for rent and camping sites and tourist resorts. The latter are all high quality and offer different solutions: camping lots as well as bungalows and cabins.
The Po Delta Area is famous for its food and wine. Local wines perfectly match the typical food products of the land and water. Visitors can choose to have a quick snack – in the Ravenna area do not miss the piadina bread – or a full meal in one of the many restaurants offeringfish or meat menus. For seafood choose the area of Porto Garibaldi, Goro and Cervia.
If you want a professional guide to accompany you on your tour of the Delta you can contact local tourist guides and environmental guides, who will show you the most interesting historical, cultural and natural aspects of the region. Some environmental guides are experts on the Po Delta wildlife and can be considered birdwatching guides.
